Celebrating the Birth . . . Evelyn E. Smith and Brian Michael Stableford

Evelyn E. Smith (25 July 1922 – 4 July 2000)

Smith was a wonderfully amusing, Science Fiction (and ocassionaly fantasy) writer whose stories frequently filled the pages of  Galaxy Science Fiction and Fantastic Universe, during the 1950's and very early 60's.  Several of her works are freely available so give them a try.

Brian Michael Stableford (born 25 July 1948)
A prolific Science Fiction and Fantasy author, Stableford has more than  seventy novels to his credit, some under the pen name Brian Craig (including five Warhammer novels).  His fiction ranges from lofty Space Opera to gritty, hack and slash fantasy.  Be sure to listen to the StarShipSofa reading below and if you like grab some of his other works.
